Lesson Summary

Alright! You are nearly completed with the module. Below is a printable summary of the key points. You can refer back to this page and the entire course at any time. On the next pages are review questions and the final quiz.

  1. Distance education has a long history and includes a variety of presentation methods including correspondence, broadcast television, software, webinar, and online learning. Distance education is often self-paced and whatever the format, it has existed as long as there have been willing students and teachers.
  2. Online learning does not need to be more difficult than using a website browser and following instructions to learn.  Plus online learning is convenient and can happen anywhere you have a computer, laptop, or even your smartphone.
  3. The first step to online learning is to understand your training and certification needs.  And online learning does not necessarily make learning easier, but it will allow you to stay with the questions much longer.
  4. LearnH2O students can update their profile information easily themselves as well as login at any time to review courses they have purchased and even already completed.  Course registration happens automatically after purchasing and then taking the course.
  5. LearnH2O courses and all good online courses are organized into modular units of study. Good old fashioned books do the same thing organizing their content into chapters. This enables the reader, or in this case the student, the ability to make incremental measurable progress through the content.
  6. Online learning activities include reading pages, viewing captioned pictures and diagrams, viewing videos, listening to audio, opening attached files, taking survey polls and viewing survey results , submitting feedback forms, and performing special interactive activities.
  7. Quiz question types include single choice, multiple choice, free choice, sorting choice, matrix sorting choice, fill in the blank, assessments.  Certificates of completion can then be printed immediately by the student themselves.
